I’m a University of Pittsburgh alumnus with a B.S. in Digital Narrative and Interactive Design. I’m inquisitive, purpose-driven, and energetic.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and still live here. I’m a Lead Software Engineer at Freedom Gateway.

Project 01

The grow lights broke the camera, so I taught FFmpeg a trick.

Cheap grow lights made a rolling-shutter webcam look striped. I built a two-stage FFmpeg filter that removes the 120 Hz banding without ghosting, using about 64% less CPU than my first attempt; the rest of the project handles live streams and timelapses.

A Minecraft mod I started as a teenager somehow reached 272,000 downloads.

I started More Fuels as a teenager and have maintained it across 13 Minecraft versions.

Apparently a normal light switch was not enough.

Hobbies and interests

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, camping and backpacking, gardening, and anime. I got my interest in cooking from my dad, who was a chef, baker, and pizzaiolo.

I listen to a wide variety of music, including classic rock, metal, alternative, synthwave and electronic music, and j-pop.

Some of my favorite shows are Neon Genesis Evangelion (opens in a new tab), Code Geass (opens in a new tab), Re:Zero (opens in a new tab), and Steins;Gate (opens in a new tab).

Some of my favorite artists are Styx, Queen, Sabaton, Green Day, MCR, and Astrophysics. I grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, corn, and herbs.
